Nicole and Mick wanted their engagement session to reflect who they are and where their story began. We started at J9 Wine Bar in Lincoln Park, the spot where they had their very first date. It was the perfect place to begin; it was so cozy, familiar and full of meaning. They enjoyed a glass of sauvignon blanc, laughed easily and made new memories in a space already special to them.
From there we headed into the park to meet up with their sweet pup for a quiet stroll through a wintry mix of snow and rain. The weather was cold but beautiful in its own way and Nicole and Mick took it all in stride. With umbrellas in hand and their dog trotting beside them, the three of them turned a gray winter afternoon into something so warm and fun.
What I loved most about this session was how personal it felt. The locations were meaningful. The moments were natural. It wasn’t about posing or perfection, it really felt just two people in love enjoying the day together.
Nicole and Mick are getting married this October at the Morton Arboretum and I can’t wait to be there to capture it all!
If you’re dreaming of an engagement session that feels natural, personal and true to your relationship, I’d love to help bring it to life.
