We weren’t exactly going for a winter look for Jes and Ben’s engagement photos, but we rolled with it anyway. In early November, an unexpected snow storm hit the Chicagoland area which added some fresh powder to this engagement session. We started their session at their West Loop home rooftop, the very place where Ben popped the question. Not bad a view! From there, we took advantage of the best of both worlds: a little bit of West Loop, a little bit nature and city skyline. Thank you both for toughing out the elements that day. With today’s single digit weather, I bet the low 20’s would feel like summertime now…
Meredith and Matt’s wedding photographed like a dream and we could not have been more thrilled to be a part of it. The rainy/snowy/cold November day began at the Gwen Hotel as the bride and groom finished preparations for their wedding ceremony. The couple opted for tradition and saw each other for the first time that day as Meredith walked down the gorgeous aisle at St. Clement’s.
I love love love these Matted Albums. They’ve been a big hit in 2017 and I’m looking forward to using them even more next year. They are a perfect little coffee table album to show off a few of your favorite photos. Madeline and Alex put theirs to good use by including favorite photos from their Morton Arboretum engagement session last fall. It turned out beautifully!
With winter on the inevitable horizon, I’m living every sunny, warm day to it’s fullest and we could not have picked a more beautiful day for Nikki and Daniel’s one year anniversary session. Jackson Park and Promontory point are big time favorite photo locations of mine, and I’m hoping to use them a bit more in 2018. The south shore of Chicago is a beauty…
This fall Artifact Events wedding was a dream. I’ve been lucky to work with so many amazing couples all year long, and Jori and Chris were no exception. I’ve been excited to photograph their wedding day since I met with them last year and it was just as beautiful as I had imagined. The day began along the Chicago Riverfront, detoured to my favorite photo spot: Montrose Harbor, and ended at Artifact Events for an incredible celebration. The excitement and energy felt throughout the day was contagious…
Well, you know what they say, “When in Michigan…” Ever since my destination Arizona engagement session, I’ve been wanting to integrate more exotic landscapes into my work. With Michigan so close to Chicago, I decided that a Michigan Dunes session was in order. Lucky for me, Keara and David were willing to wake up with the sunrise the day after their wedding in Benton Harbor and do a special “after” session at Warren Dunes State Park.
If Annie and Ryan’s Lincoln Square pad isn’t the epitome of #dreamhome goals, I don’t know what is. I had the pleasure of catching up with these two after delivering their brand new wedding album. Reliving their winter Cafe Brauer wedding together was a treat. I might make home album deliveries a regular part of my process, because seeing their faces light up with every page turn melted my little wedding photographer heart…
