Now that 2018 is officially here, I’m getting ready for our first weddings of the year! We have 2 amazing clients this February, and are super excited to be working with Jackie and Steve at Cafe Brauer. Dreaming back to a warmer Chicago climate, I felt like it was time to share more from their engagement photos from last spring…
In the early years of my business, my packages always included the files, and though I offered more, clients rarely ever purchased an album or print through me. I (wrongfully) assumed that this is what they wanted, and that they would handle the rest on their own. It wasn’t until last year when a past client reached out to me and confessed that she had lost the digital files and regretted that she never made an album or even a single print from her wedding day. Imagine spending all that money on a professional wedding photographer, and then years later not having a single photo to show for it. And she isn’t the only one out there. This conversation honestly made me question if leaving clients with only the files was actually a disservice to them. The short answer to a long story is YES…
Kelly and Mike’s wedding story has a special place in my heart. These two are the absolute sweetest and I had been looking forward to their Cafe Brauer wedding for months. As you man of you know, my love for weddings at Cafe Brauer runs deep, especially when LOLA and Stems are at the design helm. It’s been two months and I’m still drooling over the suspended floral piece, candlelit ballroom, and the most magnificent wedding masterpiece ever: the Stan’s Donut Cake…
Cafe Brauer has quickly become one of my most photographed venues in Chicago, and I don’t think I’ll ever tire of it. The venue is one of a kind and every time I’ve worked here, the space has been transformed in a completely unique way. I had been looking forward to Liz and John’s wedding all year and it definitely ended up being one of my favorite weddings of 2017; snow, rain and all.
