What a beautiful wedding to begin 2018!

The couple wanted to plan a wedding that represented their personalities and love for one another. They are both romantic, heartfelt people and wanted their guests to feel special and integral to their day!

Angela and Alex decided to get married in Chicago since that is where they met on Wrigley Field in 2014. They envisioned a classic and classy, but intimate secular ceremony and reception at the iconic Rookery building. The light court interior speaks for itself, and they wanted the décor and floral to complement the marble and gold leaf details and Frank Lloyd Wright architecture. They wanted guests to feel like they’ve entered a different time once they’ve gone through the entrance drapery!

It was the baseball offseason for their winter wedding, so they had to find a way to bring Wrigley to the
Rookery – ivy leaves placed at each setting for dinner. Angela and Alex loved choosing special details that were true to them, but in a more subtle way. They wanted their wedding to have the opulence of a Gatsby party, maybe not quite as wild – but with just as much fun, dancing and champagne! Every guests felt like A VIP!

We could not have asked for any better. And as if it wasn’t already a perfect day, the fluffiest snow fell from the sky just as we were finishing up portraits.

This Rookery Wedding has already become a favorite! I’ve been looking forward to this wedding ever since I photographed Angie and Alex’s engagement session on Wrigley Field last summer. To say they are the sweetest is an understatement.
