Formal and fun. That’s the vision Jackie and Steve had for their winter Cafe Brauer wedding, and that mission was accomplished. We had a blast working with these two! Who knew February would end up being one of our favorite months of wedding season?! The morning began with Jackie getting ready with her mom and bridesmaids, and Steve with his groomsmen and the most adorable french bull dog, Whiskey. I had the pleasure of meeting Jackie and Steve’s fur baby back during their engagement session and have been obsessively following him on Instagram ever since. I probably could have made an entire blog post with Whiskey photos after this wedding, so I truly consider it an accomplishment that I narrowed it down to only two for this blog post.
We lucked out with a fairly mild day (for February anyway!) and we toured the city for wedding party portraits with Jackie, Steve and their wedding party before their wedding ceremony at St. Michael’s in Old Town. This church is a Chicago gem and we’re looking forward to returning there several more times this year. After the ceremony, the natural thing to do was to pop open a bottle of champagne, saber style, and get the party started.
I’ll never tire of Cafe Brauer. It’s become my most frequented wedding venue in Chicago and I’m okay with that! We have a few more events there this year and can’t wait to do it all again. Jackie and Steve, thank you from the bottom of my heart for letting us be the ones to capture this amazing day from start to finish! Congratulations again. Looking forward to putting together your wedding album next!
