What to Wear to Your Bridal Boudoir Session

Are you planning your bridal boudoir photos? One of the first things my brides ask me is “What do I wear?” The options are truly endless. Lingerie, of course, seems to be the most popular, but there are so many other options. If you plan on using your boudoir photos as a gift for the wedding day, here are a few ideas to get you started.

Off the Shoulder Sweater

How many times has he told you that you look just as beautiful in your sweats as you do all dressed up? Lingerie isn’t the only wardrobe option to wear for a boudoir session. Sometimes, all of you need is a cozy, off the shoulder sweater.

His Button Down Shirt

Sometimes, all you have to do is raid HIS closet. A simple button down shirt can do wonders for a boudoir session. Plus, he’ll love seeing you wrapped up in something of his.

Cathedral Length Veil

I can’t tell you how excited I get when a bride brings in a floor length veil to her boudoir shoot. There’s something about the texture and movement of it that inspires me. If you don’t have one (or don’t want to risk wearing it before the wedding), ask around. You’d be surprised how many of your friends have their used veil hanging in a closet.

Your Wedding Shoes

If you have an extra special pair of heels you’re planning to wear to the wedding, bring them along to your boudoir session. You’ll hardly get to show off your wedding shoes on the day itself, so why not show them off?

A Sentimental Piece of Jewelry

Did your partner gift you a special necklace? Wear it! If you own a piece of jewelry that’s special to you for any reason, consider wearing that piece in your photos.

Light & Lacey Lingerie

This may be the obvious sounding choice, but light and airy lingerie will always portray a classic bridal look. The neutral palette paired with soft and sheer textures will exude romance. That being said, don’t be afraid of color or darker hues. There are no rules when it comes to your boudoir wardrobe.
