Stephanie Izard’s west loop diner, Little Goat, was the perfect setting for their urban wedding. Surrounded by their parents, siblings and grandparents, Ashley and Kevin exchanged vows on the diner’s rooftop where they could take in the views of the Chicago skyline. Ashley’s grandfather officiated the ceremony, and added sweet and sentimental touches to the readings. Afterwards, their family members moved inside to Little Goat’s private dining room where they could watch the talented chefs at work preparing their meals. Their dinner included goat empanadas, chickpea fritters, veggie pappardella, lamb ribs, seared duck and more. The best part: the cake! Inspired by the Top Chef winner’s own wedding cake, Ashley and Kevin kicked of dinner with a taste of their Cheez-it wedding cake. That’s right, Cheez-it! This truly unique cake featured a crunchy filling of chocolate ganache, peanut butter and chocolate-covered Cheez-Its. Everyone raved about it! Sounds of Frank Sinatra from Ashley’s record player serenaded guests over dinner to set the tone for the evening. Congratulations to the happy couple! Thank you for letting me be a part of your day!
