Chicago Illuminating Company Wedding

Catelyn & Bryan’s Wedding Day
Chicago Illuminating Company
Chicago, IL

Where do I even begin? Catelyn and Bryan’s wedding at Chicago Illuminating Company was one of my favorites so far this summer! Catelyn and Bryan’s love story began at a River North bar with a red, white and blue cocktail, so a Fourth of July holiday wedding seemed like it was predetermined. Getting married on her favorite holiday and her parent’s wedding anniversary made the celebration all the more special. I met Catelyn and her family and bridesmaids at the beautiful Gwen Hotel downtown. The bridal suite featured a private balcony overlooking the city. This plus all the floor to ceiling windows and abundance of natural light led to some super pretty detail photos! I was in love.

Family and friends gathered in the outdoor terrace of Chicago Illuminating Company for the wedding ceremony. The floral backdrop by Steve’s Flower Market blew me away. It was beyond stunning and set the tone for Catelyn and Bryan’s modern yet whimsical celebration. After saying “I Do”, the bride, groom and wedding party made a quick trip downtown for photos at the Art Institute while guests enjoyed cocktails on the terrace. There were a few friendly and familiar faces in the wedding party and had a great time working with these guys!

The reception decor was everything. I loved the bright, summery colors mixed with the mirrored table tops and black and white striped linens. Catelyn, hailing from Florida, added several whimsical touches to represent her home state, including alligator shaped chocolates, star fis h and sea shell escort cards, mussel name tags, and beyond. Loved these personalized details! The reception began with a few fun and heartfelt toasts and a special anniversary cake cutting ceremony for Catelyn’s parents. After dinner, guests returned outside for dancing under the stars. My favorite part of the whole evening: guests surrounded the dance floor waving sparklers as Catelyn and Bryan shared their first dance together. I don’t think this wedding could have been any more amazing.

Thank you to Catelyn, Bryan and their families for such an amazing day. We enjoyed every minute of it! A special thanks to Catelyn, our beautiful bride, for following my work over the last 6 years. I’m so glad you did! 🙂
