If you know me, you know that I love an outdoor wedding. In fact, the more outdoor weddings in my life, the better. I love the feel of a garden wedding in the city. It exudes romance, but in a non-stuffy, easy, natural way. Because quite a few of you always ask about my favorite venues in the city, I thought I’d share a few of my top picks for outdoor wedding venues in the Chicagoland area…
As I am getting ready for a busy wedding season, I’m flashing back to my last weddings of 2017 with Megan and Marty. Their Salvage One wedding last December was the perfect wedding to end the year. After a rainy and gloomy fall, we had the most beautiful December day filled with sunshine and warm weather and could not have asked for better.
Kelly and Mike’s wedding story has a special place in my heart. These two are the absolute sweetest and I had been looking forward to their Cafe Brauer wedding for months. As you man of you know, my love for weddings at Cafe Brauer runs deep, especially when LOLA and Stems are at the design helm. It’s been two months and I’m still drooling over the suspended floral piece, candlelit ballroom, and the most magnificent wedding masterpiece ever: the Stan’s Donut Cake…
Cafe Brauer has quickly become one of my most photographed venues in Chicago, and I don’t think I’ll ever tire of it. The venue is one of a kind and every time I’ve worked here, the space has been transformed in a completely unique way. I had been looking forward to Liz and John’s wedding all year and it definitely ended up being one of my favorite weddings of 2017; snow, rain and all.
