When the Photographs Come Home | Lauren & Nate

There’s a moment when photographs stop feeling like something you received and start feeling like something that belongs to you.

I stopped by Lauren and Nate’s home after their album and artwork were delivered, and we spent some time flipping through it together on their couch. Slowly, without rushing. The way you do when it’s just the two of you and there’s nowhere else to be.

Every so often they’d pause, point something out, laugh, or sit with a moment a little longer.

Their home already felt like them—comfortable, lived in, layered with the things they’ve collected over time. And then, woven into it, their photographs.

On the walls. On the shelves. In their hands.

Not separate from their life, but part of it now.

That’s always been my favorite part of this process. Not just creating the images, but seeing where they end up. How they’re lived with. How they become something you return to without even thinking about it.

Lauren and Nate, thank you for inviting me in and for trusting me with something that now lives here with you.

Lauren & Nate selected a distressed leather cover for their album.

Most people don’t realize how different photographs feel once they’re part of your home.
