Brooklyn Bridge & Washington Square Park

Well, you know what they say… the early bird gets the Brooklyn Bridge!

On a crisp, November morning, I woke up in New York City for travel engagement session.

Before the sunrise, I met Rachel and Nick at the Brooklyn Bridge and for a few moments, it felt like we had the city that never sleeps to ourselves. On this cool, November morning, Rachel and Nick felt like they were home. Former NYU students and New York City residents, the couple met and fell in love in the Big Apple. While they will be marrying this fall in Chicago, taking engagement photos in their home-away-from-home, New York City, was a MUST.

While the Brooklyn Bridge is certainly iconic, my favorite moments of these two happened over at Washington Square Park. In the most perfectly-timed photo, these two leaned in for a kiss just as a flock of birds soared overhead. It’s one of my favorite engagement shots to date. As a kid, I used to drag my dad to the city and constantly made him chase pigeons for my photos so my younger self would be super proud. 😉

Capturing photos in New York City has been a dream of mine for quite some time, and I certainly hope to do this again in the near future. I loved the change of scenery and getting to meet a new and different vibrant city. Chicago will always be my number one, but boy does this beautiful city have so much to offer.
