A Pre-Mastectomy Boudoir Photo Shoot

Within a few days of being diagnosed with breast cancer, a dear client of mine whose wedding I had photographed 12 years earlier reached out to me about scheduling a boudoir session. She was about to undergo a double mastectomy and she wished to capture her body, exactly as it was, for the last time.

I don't think I have the words to convey the depth of how emotional this photo shoot truly was. We captured a quiet beauty and strength during a time of profound sadness and uncertainty. Despite it all, we still found laughter and smiles and joy too. I hope you enjoy looking through the art we made together.
