This wedding was made of pure magic. No, seriously. It had us gushing over every little detail. In case you are wondering, here was the line-up going into Trisha and Greg’s day: getting ready photos at the gorgeous Waldorf Astoria, portraits at the Chicago Botanic Garden, event coordination by La Belle Fleur Events, the most beautiful walled garden wedding reception I’ve ever seen, and ended with a picture-perfect sparkler send off. Spoiler alert: the newly weds even tap danced together for their first dance and it was the most adorable thing in the history of ever.
It’s no secret that I loved working with Trisha and Greg. They are truly the sweetest people I have ever met. It’s been a joy getting to know them over the course of their engagement. Starting with our very first meeting (where I’m pretty sure we took a selfie together) to their intimate and romantic engagement session, I knew that their wedding day would be extra special.
The morning began with sunshine, peonies, Kate Spade heels, Jenny Yoo gowns, and a tear jerker of a first look. Before their traditional ceremony, we roamed the grounds of the Chicago Botanic Gardens for portraits in their English walled garden. It was the most perfect June day! Many more happy tears could be found in every direction throughout the ceremony. The love, joy and meaning of the day was felt throughout the sanctuary. After a grand exit, Trisha and Greg joined guests at the Winnetka Community House for their walled garden wedding reception. A string quartet set the tone for the evening as cocktails and hors devours were served by the amazing Catered by Design. Everyone applauded as the new Mr. and Mrs. as they were introduced into their reception. Their first stop was to cut their wedding cake by Vanille Patisserie (which, by the way, was probably the best piece of wedding cake I’ve ever had in my life). Trisha and Greg’s brothers, sisters and parents gave heartfelt toasts throughout the meal.
Then, the moment I had been waiting for: their first dance. One dress change and two pairs of tap dance shoes later, Trisha and Greg wowed guests with their choreographed dance. It was adorable! Singer, Elle Casazza, and her band had people on the dance floor until the very end of the night. As the evening came to a close, everyone lined up to give Trisha and Greg the perfect sparkler send-off. THANK YOU both from the bottom of my heart for letting us capture your wedding day. It was an absolute honor. We wish you nothing but the best as you start this new chapter in your life.
