Miss K: Chicago Boudoir Photographer

After being riddled by body insecurities almost her entire life, Miss K decided to go for it and do a boudoir session.

Like many women before her, she was scared and nervous to bare it all. It takes a lot of guts to do a boudoir session and the hardest part is usually showing up. K showed up in the most beautiful way.

K wanted her boudoir photos to feel very natural and understated, as if it was a relaxing morning at home. She brought a chambray shirt, The Hobbit, and a few other fun wardrobe pieces and then the fun began.

The girl I saw in front of me was so confident, kind and beautiful inside and out. It was my job to capture all that and more, and I couldn’t wait to see her reaction when she saw her boudoir photos for the very first time.

2 weeks later during her virtual boudoir reveal appointment, I showed her every single image, one by one. And one by one, there were the biggest smiles and “oh my god, that’s me!” moments I’ve ever seen.

I’ll be honest in saying that there are times I doubt myself and wonder if the hustle of photography is really worth it, but seeing her reaction to her photos reaffirmed that I’m right where I need to be.

K has always had this confidence and beauty inside of her, I just got to reintroduce it to her in a new light.

She says:

“This experience made me feel sexy in a way I never thought I could. I’ve struggled with my weight and being comfortable in my own skin for a long time. I’ve gained about 20lbs in the last two years and for the first time ever, am starting to feel comfortable in my body. These photos helped reaffirm that a healthy, happy body is so much better than one afraid to eat.”
