In my time as a wedding photographer, I’ve been lucky to work with so many incredible people. Joe and Terri are two truly special individuals and I felt honored to be a part of their wedding day. Upon meeting them for the first time, I felt a connection with them right away. We even realized we were neighbors in North Center and lived only a few doors away from each other. What a small world! Joe is an educator and asked me to give them a grade on how they did with photos. Well, Joe…the report card is in and I’m giving you guys an A+. 😉

The day started with rain and a few mishaps: a hotel room desk collapsed; a bridesmaid trapped in an elevator. Even Terri’s veil was blow away by the wind during photos, landing directly into the Chicago River. Not one of these things phased them. They were nothing but smiles and laughter all day long. The rain quickly disappeared, the sun came out, and it ended up being the most beautiful day for these two. One of my favorite moments of the day was their first look. We opted to do something less contrived, and I loved the way it unfolded. Terri and Joe met in their hotel room suite before heading to the church. Terri was waiting for him by the windows and we were able to catch Joe’s reaction as he entered the room. It was incredibly sweet and definitely had us a little misty eyed.

After a beautiful ceremony and a fun time spent around town with their wedding party, we arrived to one of my favorite Chicago wedding venues, Galleria Marchetti. I’m a sucker for anything outdoors and tented, and this venue fits the bill perfectly in the busyness of the city. The decor featured neutral hues, metallics, and lush greenery throughout. I loved the light and airy style. It was beautiful! Guests enjoyed champagne and cocktails, a delicious dinner, followed by a dancing and sparklers throughout the evening. Thank you Terri and Joe for everything. I can’t wait to put all of these photos together in your wedding albums! 🙂
