Allie and Andy have a love story that’s meant for the movies and novels. Living almost 4,000 miles apart, they may have never met if Andy hadn’t decided to run the Chicago Marathon last year. Allie, from Chicago, and Andy, from London, instantly sparked when they met that day. They had an incredible first date that ended at the Signature Room of the John Hancock building. A year later, they would become husband and wife.
I had the pleasure of meeting Allie earlier this year at a photo shoot for The Every Girl, and was thrilled to hear from her again upon her engagement! Allie and Andy planned an intimate wedding centered around family and their hometowns of London and Chicago. Their parents and siblings were in attendance. The couple and their family got ready at the Public Hotel, one of my favorites in the city. Allie’s room even had a view of the John Hancock building, a reminder of where their story began. Andy, an avid runner, decided to run the Chicago Marathon the morning of their wedding. No big deal, right?! Their families cheered him on throughout the day. The couple met in their beautiful suite at the Public and had a private moment together before departing to their ceremony.
Allie, Andy, and their families gathered underneath a row of trees for an intimate ceremony at Milton Olive Park. Their family stood by their side as they exchanged vows to one another. Each family member took a moment to bless the rings as they were passed around from hand to hand. It was a very sweet tradition. Happy tears and smiles were in every direction. After the couple exchanged their first kiss as husband and wife, they walked over to the lakefront. Andy’s brother brought his guitar and serenaded the newlyweds as they had their first dance in front of the city skyline. It was incredibly romantic.
After a few photos with everyone in attendance, Allie and Andy left for their highly anticipated dinner at River Roast. In London, it’s common to have a roast every Sunday. Their intimate dinner for 12 gave Andy’s family a feeling of home. They wined and dined over candlelight and soaked up every excitable moment together. Thank you to Allie, Andy and their families for such a memorable and truly beautiful day. This intimate restaurant wedding certainly be a day that I will always remember. I hope you enjoy these photos and relive every magical moment. Congratulations!
