Lauren and Mike were married on a beautiful summer day at the Peggy Notebaert Nature Museum in Chicago’s Lincoln Park neighborhood. I LOVE this venue. The grounds around the museum are breathtaking and make for a perfect setting for a wedding.
You may remember Lauren and Mike from their beach engagement session last summer. Lauren described the style of her day as summery, shabby and chic. With the help of Re:find Joy, this look was accomplished perfectly. There were adorable vintage-inspired details found everywhere. Guests were even invited to leave the couple love notes via an antique typewriter. The couple’s ceremony was held outside of the nature museum, where friends and family waved ribbon wands as Lauren and Mike shared their first kiss. The reception was held upstairs inside the museum’s banquet room. The floor-to-ceiling windows offered the perfect view of the grounds below. Thanks to Monastero Entertainment, Lauren and Mike danced the night away and celebrated with their loved ones. To add to the festivities, the couple served guests an array of treats throughout the evening. They had a beautifully decorated sweets table, complete with chocolate, candy and cupcakes (the 3 C’s!). Towards the end of the night, late night snacks of milk shakes, french fries, and Chicago-style hot dogs were passed around the dance floor. That in addition to one fabulous dinner catered by Limelight Catering, no one left this wedding hungry. As the night came to an end, guests lined up outside to send off the happy newlyweds with cheers and sparklers. It was the perfect way to end a perfect evening. Thank you so much to Lauren, Mike and their families for such a great day. It was a joy to be apart of it!
