Destination Wedding PhotographerPuerto Vallarta, Mexico
One month ago, I was sipping on sangria and enjoying sunny Puerto Vallarta, Mexico at the beyond-gorgeous Garza Blanca Preserve Resort and Spa. As soon as I arrived, I knew why Amy and Al had picked the location for their Puerto Vallarta destination wedding in Mexico.
The resort is built from the mountains down to the shore along beautiful Bandera Bay. The views are breathtaking in every direction. The morning of their wedding, Amy and Al greeted me with a welcome bag making feel like one of their guests. It was filled with Mexican munchies, retro sun glasses, a fan, and even a mini bottle of Tequila (of course!). It was an awesome treat! The couple spent the day together enjoying the beach and sunshine, but parted ways to get ready so that Al could see his bride for the first time walking down the aisle. When I first met with Amy and Al at their engagement session, they told me they wanted their wedding to be intimate and relaxed, and it was just that. The sunset ceremony was held between two palm trees of Garza Blanca’s private beach. Friends and family made a circle in the sand with their shoes, leaving Amy and Al’s shoes in the middle. After a heartwarming ceremony, filled with tears and laughter, the couple shared their first kiss and husband and wife. We took advantage of the beautiful sunset and beach for portraits of the newlyweds. Amy wasn’t afraid to get her J.Crew gown a little wet! She volunteered to climb rocks and run around in the ocean tide; it was so much fun. As the sun began to set, their friends and family were escorted up to into the mountains for the poolside reception at Garza Blanca. White lights were strung across the dance floor and the tables were lit by candles. Simple arrangements of baby’s breath in wooden vases decorated the tables. Dinner was delicious, and everyone could not wait to get the dancing started to Al’s mix of 90’s hits. Amy and Al had so much fun dancing the night away. It was a pleasure to be a part of all of the festivities. Thank you to Amy, Al and their families for making me feel right at home. Another big thank you to the entire staff at Garza Blanca. Everyone was so helpful and friendly. I hope to return again very soon! It was an awesome wedding and I am so excited to share it!
