Independence Grove WeddingJessica + Ryan
This adorable Independence Grove wedding was filled to the brim with DIY projects and sentimental details that truly made this day unique. Jessica’s wedding day style was made complete with touches of family heirlooms, including a vintage pair of bracelets from her great, great aunt in Scotland, a veil that was trimmed with the lace from her mother’s wedding gown, and the same pair of wedding shoes that her mother wore on her own wedding day. All of their stationary, invitations and programs were designed by the couple. Guests enjoyed flipping through their DIY ceremony programs which included a drawing of the complete wedding party. Inside the little white chapel, the aisle was lined with hand-made cones filled with bunches of baby’s breath. After Jessica and Ryan said “I do”, guests lined up outside the chapel ready to shower the newlyweds with a special eco-fetti. The eco-fetti was biodegradable and made for an easy cleanup.
Upon arriving to Independence Grove, we toured the grounds for photos of the happy couple and their wedding party. It was a perfect day and we had the most gorgeous lighting! With such a cute couple and beautiful setting, we had so much fun photographing Jessica and Ryan together. The couple joined guests at their cocktail hour outside on the veranda, where guests enjoyed home made beer, brewed specially for the wedding. I told you this was a DIY wedding! Jessica and Ryan even bottled their own homemade sangria and called it “Jarogmo” (Jessica and Ryan only get married once). Inside the reception room, I was in aw over their centerpieces. Jessica and her family designed and created by hand the topiary table numbers that sat at every table. They looked perfect along side the gorgeous floral designs by Prairie Basket Florist. As escort cards, Jessica and Ryan spray painted gold horses with luggage name tags around the neck. Sitting on the escort table, was a framed poem about “holding on to your horses” for dinner. I was a big fan! To top it all off, Jessica and Ryan are high school sweet hearts which made this wedding all the more adorable. Enjoy!
