Newberry Library WeddingChicago, IL
Where do I even begin? I’ve been looking forward to Christine and John’s wedding day since our very first meeting last year. These two had the sweetest story which we tried to retell during their engagement session. Christine and John’s Newberry Library wedding day was classic, elegant and sophisticated, and filled to the brim with romance. The whole day was made extra special with coordination by Grace Clayton, beautiful flowers by Kloeckner, a traditional wedding ceremony at Assumption Catholic Church, portraits at two very sentimental Chicago locations, a cookie table tradition at their reception, and live music by Connexion Band that kept guests dancing all night.
We met the couple at the gorgeous Public Hotel as they spent time with their family and friends while getting ready for the ceremony. The bridesmaids were dressed in elegant Jenny Yoo gowns, and the men wore classic black tuxes. Christine looked absolutely gorgeous in her wedding dress as she walked down the church aisle towards John. The couple were surrounded by their loved ones throughout their traditional Catholic ceremony. After saying their “I Do’s”, Christine, John and their wedding party departed for Kinzie Street Bridge, the very spot where John had proposed to Christine. It was raining, but that didn’t stop the happy newlyweds from enjoying every second of their day together. Afterwards, we headed to another special spot, Union Station where we took more photos of the happy couple and their wedding party. Christine and John wanted plenty of time before cocktail hour to sit back, relax and enjoy the moment together. After guests had arrived to Newberry Library, Christine and John made their grand entrance into cocktail hour by descending the candlelit staircase and were met with a round of applause.
Guests enjoyed the evening with dinner, cocktails, dancing, and my favorite part, a cookie table! As a wedding tradition in John’s family, family members bring their own specialty cookie to the wedding and put them on display in one very impressive looking cookie table. There were over 50 varieties of home baked cookies for guests to enjoy as dessert. Now that is a tradition I can definitely get on board with. 😉 Thank you Christine, John and their families for such an incredible day. We were thrilled to photography every special moment for you. Enjoy!
